The Qatari entrepreneur and designer is the creative force behind Afraa, a luxury prêt-à-porter brand founded in Doha in 2019. With her latest capsule, Desert Rose, crafted entirely in Lombardy, Italy, Afraa transforms fashion into a dialogue between heritage and innovation.
The collection’s debut at Milan’s Palazzo Visconti — under the patronage of the Lombardy Region— marked a milestone in cultural exchange. Drawing on the artisanal mastery of Italian ateliers, Desert Rose merges Qatari tradition with contemporary European design. Airy chiffon, structured silk cady, and tactile stretch hemp bring to life flowing silhouettes and sculpted forms. Soft hues of sand, ivory, and sky blue evoke the Qatari landscape, while delicate marble accents and desert-inspired crystal details celebrate its roots.
A graduate in Literature from Qatar University, with an MBA from Hull and a PhD in Cultural Diplomacy underway at Bocconi, Afraa approaches fashion with an intellectual and emotional depth. Her work is guided by a belief that garments can communicate values — authority, authenticity, and grace — without words.
Beyond the runway, Afraa’s initiatives — ArtistiQ, In The Hands of Venus, and Auqool — create a powerful network supporting women’s leadership, creativity, and storytelling across the MENA region.
Through these projects, Afraa has positioned her brand as a true cultural bridge between East and West, where Italian craftsmanship meets Qatari soul, and where every collection becomes a statement of empowerment, purpose, and timeless beauty.
